Macro Monday

Can you guess what this is?

How about now?

Is it a closeup of a hinge? . . . .

Or, is it a closeup of a door? . . .

Or, a closeup of a barn?!

Obviously, you could apply this thinking ad infinitum. Regardless, I'll let you decide and hope you liked it!

A Beautiful Saturday

Michele and I took advantage of the great weather on 4/14. We spent some wonderful time in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. Here are some pix including those of an old farm within the park.

Cat-Nap Wednesday . . . "Oh, the Places You'll Go."

Here are some more pix of Katie as a kitten. Yes, we are Dr. Seuss fans, and as you can see from this post, Katie went EVERY WHERE as a little one!

Here she is sleeping on Michele's studio table . . . inches away from a wet ink pad!

Macro Monday

Any idea what this might be?

Does this pic help?

It's the end of a log about 2 feet across.

We went to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park and saw the makings of a new trail. The loggers had cleared a great deal and set up many stacks of logs. It was quite a site and we had a nice picnic on a gorgeous day.

Cat-Nap Wednesday

Again, in honor of Katie's birthday month, here are some pix from her kittenhood.

Here, Katie is discovering her first rain shower. Somewhat puzzled by the dips ... she is trying to catch them!

Macro Monday

OK, I have to admit, this Macro Monday might be trickier than others. On one hand you may guess correctly "part" of the subject above. The challenge is guessing the subject in its entirety.

Here is another clue:

And, another...

One more - do you know it yet?

It's an antique door from one of our favorite Suttons Bay stores, The Red Ladder.

Any guess on the subject above?

Another fly-fishing fly!

From my friend, Jake:

Adams
One of the most popular dry flies in all of trout fishing, and designed in 1922 specifically for our Boardman River by Len Halladay for his friend Judge Charles Adams. There’s even an “Adams Festival” in Kalkaska this year, I believe. Fished high on the water like any traditional dry fly.

Wings: Tips of two grizzly hackle feathers
Hackle: one grizzly hackle feather, one brown hackle feather
Body: muskrat fur
Tail: mixture of grizzly and brown hackle fibers
Thread: gray
Hook: (in this photo) #14 dry fly hook (but I tie it in #16 and #12, too. The smaller the number, the larger the hook)

Easter Crockpot Chocolate Tapioca

The bunnies we're excited.  ;->

OK, this was fun and we enjoyed it. Hope you do too!
Andy

Ingredients for 6:
4 cups (1 litre) milk - I used whole
2/3 cup (150 g) caster sugar
1/2 cup (75 g) small pearl tapioca
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tbsp good quality cocoa powder (I used Scharffen Berger)
1 tsp vanilla essence

Directions:
Combine all ingredients and cook on High for 3 - 3 1/2 Hours or on Low for 7-8. Stir well at the end as your mixture will probably be quite lumpy; the lumps should smooth out.

Cat-Nap Wednesdays

Our "little girl" turned 10 on April 1st. Yes, April Fool's Day appropriately enough. Converting people years to cat years makes her age in the 50's. I guess she's old--like us!  ;->

Here is a blast from the past from her kittenhood.
