Cat Nap Wednesdays

This morning I showed Katie this sweet little doll that I picked up yesterday at one of my favorite shops, "27 Stitches.

I'm not sure if Katie was yawning or telling me if I didn't move my doll she would eat it up!

And here, it is quite obvious, she has seen enough of the doll! Poor Kate!

The owner of "27 Stitches" is quite a talented young lady. She has a studio, attached to her shop, where she sews all kinds of neat things using recycled materials. Sewing is just one of her talents ... she even hand carved the shop logo so she could stamp her bags. (which are recycled!) At "27 Stitches" you will find handmade items from many different Michigan artists. The little doll and purse were a couple items I couldn't leave without! Good stuff ... at "The Mercato in The Village at Grand Traverse Commons."

Happy Wednesday all,
Michele

Cat-Nap Wednesday: Surprise Guest!

Let us introduce to you, "Mazey" the poodle, one of our very own local shop pets! Her proud parents are Pat and Dick Cookman, the owners of a wonderful local store in Suttons Bay called Enerdyne. We captured Mazey in her holiday attire.

Every now and then we get lucky and see Mazey when we stop in. Of course, we love to talk with Dick and Pat, but Mazey is always a treat.

Our cat, Katie, was very generous this week and felt compelled to share the limelight with another beloved pet in our community. We were impressed with Katie since usually the day is all about . . . HER. She's making such progress. ;->

Macro Monday

Can you guess the "thing" above?

Here are some more hints...

Awhile ago I did a photoshoot in my home studio in our basement. These consisted of a great deal of product shots and one product was a hearing aid!

Macro Monday

Any guess on above?

How about with the next hint below?

This pic will help.

Yes, it's a coin, but what kind?

Yes, a Swiss Franc! I was NOT about to give you a hint of Helvetia at the start. That would have given it away. Of course, the font "Helvetica" originated in Switzerland. And, yes, again I used that font for this post!

Happy Monday!

Cat-Nap Wednesday: The Box is Never Too Small

That's right, the box is NEVER too small. It seems to not matter what size we put down, Katie will lay on it and eventually fall asleep. It's one of her big talents.

Some day we'll try a little jewelry box and see what happens. If she lays on it I'll take a picture for you. It really wouldn't matter, however, because you couldn't see it!  ;->

So, why Cat-Nap Wednesday on Tuesday, you ask? Well . . . some days we post Cat-Nap a day late. I thought this time we could do it a day early! MEOW!

Macro Monday

Any idea what the subject is of the above pic?

Does this pic below help?

Perhaps one more...

OK, I give up--I don't know either. Tee-hee! It is a ceramic utility knife! Michele got this for me for Christmas and I love it! It is the sharpest knife I have ever used. Light, cuts most things like butter.

Here it is with my hand for scale:

You can find out more about this Kyocera knife here. I hope to use it to cut out all of my bad habits for 2013. But then again, if I did that I may not have much personality left!  ;->

Happy New Year!
