Manitou Sunset

The Manitou Islands are in the distance.
We never tire of the natural beauty around us. Not too long ago we walked for a few miles around downtown Suttons Bay. It was a slightly overcast night where there had been some rain off and on for a few days. We got in the car and thought, "We have a little more time---let's drive to Lake Michigan to see if the sunset would be visible." We knew what spot we had in mind and it was about 20 minutes Northwest of us.

We're very glad we did. Generally, I love sunsets with a little cloud cover---it allows for more interesting colors, textures and shadows.

  1. The sunsets have been particularly lovely this season...the colors of orange pumpkins and golden straw. The last photo is especially beautiful!
