Cat-Nap Wednesdays

Katie looks like she's helping with the decorating....

.... but really she is waiting for me to play with her. She is sitting next to one of my favorite bears. This bear was created by "Pat Murphy." Her her creations are wonderful.

Here she sits staring at me while I work on some hand sewing. (Andy will not be happy with my blurry photos!!)

Finally she won me over and we played a good few good games of "mousey!!"

Let the Decorating Begin!

My favorite time of the year!

Just like when I was a child ... I love unpacking all of the treasured holiday decorations.

Cat-Nap Wednesdays: Cat Tails

Tail up and to the right (almost hiding Michele's chocolate jar  ;-> ).
Tail down to the left.
Cat asleep; tail just "right".

Orb Weaver

I was outside assessing the damage of a recent visit to our cedar shake siding from a Pileated Woodpecker. Michele heard the . . . "pecker" . . . from inside the house since it sounded like distant gun fire. Boy, can they peck.
For 3 months out of the year it's dark when I leave for work and when I come back home. As I was walking around with a flashlight I spied this gal in front of our garage door. Yep, a gorgeous spider specimen of a group called orb weavers. I haven't had time to research her specifically, but I did have to post her pix tonight. I think it is a "she" because of her size; females are typically larger than males.
Sleep tight . . . ;->

Cat-Nap Wednesdays

Yes, this is a box-in-a-box at an angle.

Not just quite right yet.

Getting there.

Good night.

Walking Stick

A face only a mother could love? Oh, I don't know, it's kinda cute.
A neat creation of nature, the walking stick is not something we see often. When we do it's nice to have a little time to watch him/her amble about. Do they or any insect ever say to themselves, "Oh, I think I'll cross that path and go to the tree on the other side."
Do they ever "know" specifically where they are going? Or, do they just have a general sense and that is all they need? They must have some specific idea on one hand because insects have hives, webs, nests, etc. to which the return time and again. I guess travel to and from home is relative; it's all the same, in concept, regardless of your size . . .

Note his antenna in the upper left--he was pretty long!

Cat-Nap Wednesdays

Toys, toys, TOYS!
I love a (catnip) cigar after lunch.

If this mouse was real, it'd be sorry it came in my house (assuming I'm not sleeping).
Speaking of sleeping . . .
