I love apples and I love gingerbread, so I thought I would give this recipe a try. It was quick, easy and very good.

Pour butter into a 9 inch baking pan. Arrange the apples over the butter; sprinkle with brown sugar and set aside.

1/4 C oil
1/2 C molasses
1/4 C brown sugar
1/4 C white sugar
1/4 C maple syrup

1/2 C barley flour
1 t baking soda
1 t cinnamon
1 t ginger
1/2 t cloves

ReplyDeleteThanks Linda! We do try to take in all of the beauty Northern MI has to offer. (and being the foodies that we are, that includes the wonderful produce, like the apples used in this cake.)
ReplyDeleteOh that looks so good. And the cream on top!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love apples and I love gingerbread too!! Just have to make this in the coming week...bet it was delicious. We used all our apples in chunky applesauce with cranberries and froze it but will get more soon. Will let you know how it turns out, okay.
ReplyDeleteSue, Guess what ... it wasn't cream on top ... It's yogurt! I don't like cream, but Andy sure does!
