Last night we enjoyed a blue-grass band ("Sour Mash"; their site is here and the name stems from this) that performed in the traditional method of how the genre developed--all playing and singing around one mic. I'd guess about 400 people or so set up chairs and picnics and enjoyed the show for about 2 hours.
We seem to not only enjoy food and wine in our area, but pets too; I had to include the cute lab shot. (If you like labs, check out my employer's publication: Just Labs Magazine)
Hope you had a good weekend too.
Andy
Oh that sounds like a great evening! Is that really the glow of the sun setting..looking like a fire glazed porcelain vase on the horizon? Wow..
ReplyDeleteIt was a really nice time, Bren, and, yes, that is the glow of the sun. We live on a peninsula in Lake Michigan (see Google Earth link below) and the sunsets can be quite striking.
ReplyDeleteWe keep looking for the "green flash", but have yet to see it. We know people who have seen it and believe someday we will. Learn more about the green flash at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_flash
Thanks,
Andy

ReplyDeleteGreat place you live. I am surprised you are so close to the Canadian border... don't know this part of the USA at all.
