Cat-Nap Wednesdays

OK, I thought I should take a "shot" at CNW. These are mostly of Katie in the sun in front of our door-wall and another in one of her (many) favorite boxes.
BTW, box = Katie's never-ending fascination and the bane of our living room . . . ;->

Spring is in the Air

Again we lucked out with some nice weather on Mother's Day.
Granted, Michele is "just" a cat mom, but sometimes we feel . . . . like it is having a perpetual 2 year old!
Regardless, we enjoyed the day with a short outing: a picnic with pix! Can you beat that?

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park

One of our favorite places to visit is our local national park, Sleeping Bear Dunes. Check it out "officially" here or here. We're finally getting some sun and it was wonderful to get outside. Here are some shots--hope you enjoy!

Daffodils

I noticed this beautiful clump of daffodils on my walk and couldn't resist getting a closer look.

I love the natural arch formed by this small tree.

The daffodils were near this small vacant building. We have posted shoots of the building before ... if only walls could talk ... we are curious about its history.

Cat-Nap Wednesdays

Well Katie didn't make it very easy for me to get my cat-nap photos today. Despite the fact that the sun was shining on her window bed, she decided to sleep in a chair at the dining room table.

Nevertheless, she was cute as ever!

One Year Anniversary

We started our blog, one year ago today, with the image above. This afternoon I walked down the road to take the same picture. Last year we had a very warm spring and the cherry trees were in bloom a couple weeks early. This year it seems like it has been really cool, but I have heard the trees should bloom right on schedule, around May 15.

We've had fun with our blog this year and plan to continue and hopefully expand as well. Thanks to Sue, Amanda, and David for giving us that push we needed to get started. Also, thank you to all of our faithful readers. Some comment on the blog but many others through e-mail and Facebook. We really appreciate all of the encouragement from everyone. I'd like to also send out a special thank you to someone we met through our blog .... Brenda, from Nova Scotia, aka "Gardeneingbren." Thank you so much, Brenda, for your support and for your friendship. Brenda has a beautiful blog which showcases not only her extraordinary gardens, but also her fine photography and writing skills.

Hum ... I'm thinking with this being an anniversary, then I better go get a glass of wine. Here's to another year of blogging....

Cherry Belle Cardigans

As mentioned in a post last week here are a few pictures of the cardigans created by Michele's sweet and talented cousins. This worked well for me too since I have a couple of "people" photo shoots coming up and I need to practice. And, luckily I've got a really cute model!

Growing up within a 15 minute drive they were lucky enough to get together just about every week. She has great memories of sleepovers, camping trips and lots of art and craft sessions on their large breakfast table.
Michele's Aunt is an artist (also art teacher) and always had a project planned for them. We now live in different states and she really misses them and just spending time together.

We both love these cardigans they are creating. Here is a link to their Etsy shoppe, Cherry Belle.

PS Here are the cousins a "few" years back.
