Cat-Nap Wednesdays

As predicted, we got about a foot of snow last night. I lost the spot for my lawn chair! Our friend Sue, who owns the "Red Ladder" posted some great pictures of the storm on her blog.
Katie thought it was good napping weather ... of course, she thinks that about any and all types of weather. She is sleeping on a pile of old tee shirts ... they belong to her ... at nap time, I warm them in the dryer for her. (no, she's not spoiled!!)

Hope everyone is warm and safe,
Michele

One more photo set from Florida. Living in the North, this makes me anxious for spring and summer!

Cat-Nap Wednesdays

So it's been 12 years since we moved ..... I'm still going through boxes! I don't want to rush into anything. Katie helped by tipping this box over, digging her way in and taking a nap. So much for cleaning up....
She slept here all morning!

Sunglasses!

Andy and I both enjoy the four seasons. We are always sad to see one season end, yet excited to welcome the change and the new season. Winters in northern Michigan tend to be rather gray, with March being notorious for having very few sunny days. So when the sun peaked out today, I grabbed my dusty sunglasses, gave them a quick cleaning and headed out to take in the rays.

I found an area where the snow was melted just enough to set up my chair. Although I needed my coat, I was still happy to enjoy the warmth of the sun. I heard one of the radio broadcasters say "You always know when a spring day, in northern Michigan, is above 40 degrees .... everyone is in shorts and sweatshirts!" I didn't go that far but the sun did feel good.
This was the view I had from my chair ... but that was fine with me.
Happy Spring!

Cows . . . in the Everglades?!

Recall the air-boat ride we took several weeks ago in the Florida Everglades. In one corner of this very large lake/open area, we went through some thick plants and huge bogs. Then, in a great everglade cul-de-sac surrounded by a cattle farm we found these . . . . "wild Everglade creatures" . . . . just . . . . well . . . . hanging out. It was NOT what we expected, but entertaining just the same! (Click to enlarge.)

Cat-Nap Wednesdays

Katie is settling in for her afternoon nap. No sun for her today though, it's been snowing all morning!
